Oils ain't oils

IMG_0847.JPG

This feature cedar paneling was coated in an exterior varnish originally.  Then re-varnished without taking the original coating off creating a very patchy unstable surface.

IMG_0844.JPG

With the old varnish stripped using the Festool sanders and a lot of hard work we were able to get the timber back to the beautiful original colour.

Livos exterior decking oil was then applied and what a difference a great product makes.

Using an oil makes it much easier to maintain for the future. Letting a varnish break down can be a lot of work and $$$ to get the timber back to a condition to be redone.

Using a great product and applied properly the surface will be protected for a long time.

Painting your fences

Painting the internals of your fence will always change the interior of your yard. A darker background is a great way to enhance your new or existing garden and landscaping

Colourbond Monument is a super colour that is dark enough but also has a hint of brown which gives it a more natural look than a straight black.

All our fences are rolled on with 2 coats of a good quality exterior Lowsheen. Rolling and brushing gives you a lot better coverage and gets into the timber and not just sitting on top of the timber like it would if sprayed.

Responsible desposal

After two + years of recycling all our paint waste I thought it time to recycle

PAINT BACK is a new paint waste recycling initiative. Open to Trades and the public.....So good 👍🏼

So now we pay an extra 15 cents a litre and this in turn allows us to recycle all our old tins, plastic, metal and any left over paint.

Win win for us and the planet

Being responsible does take a bit of effort and extra time, but if we can help reduce more unwanted landfill and toxic waste going into our beautiful earth 🌏 then that's what we need to do.

IMG_1285.JPG

This was just half of what we had used. A full van load of around 200 tins. Not going into land fill !!

Metal, plastic and paint waste all seperated ready for there next incarnation

Thee bed repaint in Bentleigh East

A quick little job in Bentleigh east

This house was a rental and in pretty horrible state. All the walls upstairs were painted a light blue, scuffed and painted in a very flat paint.

We prepared and repainted ceilings, walls, doors and all trim.

The client had a budget but my quotation was a bit over what she could afford. But with a few adjustments we got in budget and on time for the carpet to go in and my client to move into.
